CheckFree Deal Shows B of A High on E-Billing

Bank of America is joining the small group of top U.S. financial institutions--Chase, Bank One, FleetBoston and Wells Fargo are the others--that provide electronic payment and presentment services. Bank of America reached a strategic deal with CheckFree, which gets a 10-year contract with the North Carolina-based bank in exchange for 10 million shares in CheckFree and warrants to purchase 10 million more.
