Forecast: 14 Percent of Bills Electronic by 2004

According to International Data Corp., the volume of bills paid electrically will jump from just 1 percent to 14 percent by 2004. By 2004, the company expects 40 percent of banks in the United States with $3 billion to $9 billion of assets to offer electronic bill payment and presentment. Among banks with greater assets, the percentage is expected to rise even more dramatically.
