Understanding the Motivations of Long-Term Care Insurance Owners Benefits Quarterly (Quarter 2, 2002) Vol. 18, No. 2 p.16; Yakoboski, Paul J.
In this article, ACLI Director, Research Paul J. Yakoboski writes about who purchases and why people purchase private individual and group long-term care insurance. Based on 1999 and 2000 ACLI reports, Yakoboski says he expects the interest in private long-term care coverage among younger individuals will increase as the baby boomers age and become more concerned about planning for their needs. As more people become interested in long-term care insurance, the market will grow and diversify, Yakoboski says.
