Tridel Opens Seniors' Rentals
Toronto Star (08/17/02) p.6; Prince, Michael

Tridel, Canada's largest condominium developer, is building rental accommodations for seniors in Toronto. The rental project comes amid statistics showing that people over the age of 65 are the fastest-growing segment of the population---a demographic that is increasing more rapidly than in any other part of the developed world. The project is designed to "offer assistance with general wellness, nutrition, meals, medications, laundry and housekeeping," noted Tridel's sales and marketing vice president Jim Ritchie. The facility boasts a full-time chef, two dining rooms, activity rooms, libraries, visiting rooms, private dining room, fireplace lounge, spa and inter-denominational chapel. Ritchie says the goal of the facility, which will be dubbed Delmanor Seniors Communities, is "to provide an appropriate level of care for each resident's needs."
