Sunrise Assisted Living to Sell 14 Properties

Under a recently reached agreement with Chicago-based Macquarie Capital Partners, Sunrise Assisted Living of McLean, Va., will sell 14 assisted-living properties to investment entities advised by the Chicago firm. Sunrise, which owns and manages assisted-living facilities, will retain a 20 percent interest in 12 of the properties and divest its interest in the other two properties. Sunrise is expecting its sale of the 14 properties to reduce its debt by $144 million.
