New York Life Rolls Out Pension Education

New York Life Benefit Services (NYLB) has unveiled a new communications campaign as part of its L(earn) campaign. It is designed to educate employees about defined benefit pension plans and incorporating pension information into their overall retirement planning. NYLB executives note that pension plans are usually negotiated between sponsors and plan providers, and employees do not have as much control as they do with 401(k) plans--making it harder for them to understand the pension plans. The program includes a participation kit, face-to-face participant education meetings, a series of meetings to train internal personnel to educate employees, and promotional wallet cards and postcards.
