Women Looking for Financial Gains Can Find Investment Help
Investor's Business Daily (08/17/00) Vol. 5, No. 17 p.A6; Mitchell, Julie

Women in and out of the workforce are turning to the Internet for guidance on how to invest. Investment Web sites are growing in popularity as more women look for ways to appreciate the value of their nest eggs. Such clubs usually comprise between two and 20 people and serve as an ideal platform from which female investors can share and exchange investment information. The Ivillage.com Web site, for example, features an investment glossary for potential club members with specific questions. Another site, the Women's Financial Network, provides information on how a person can find a club in their area, as well as tips on how to organize their own club Web site. To get started, members pool their interests to invest in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other investments. Clubs are also useful as networking forums.
