Consumers Underestimate Longevity, Financial Needs

A recent MetLife survey reveals that consumers largely underestimate how long they will live and how much they will need to save for retirement. While experts say that retirees will need income between 70 percent and 100 percent of their preretirement income, retirees believe they will need between 20 percent and 50 percent of their preretirement income.
