Bond Funds Climb as Investors Duck Volatility
American Banker (08/01/00) Vol. 22, No. 49 p.7; Hunter, Matthew

Two surveys say assets for bond mutual funds saw small gains in June, which has not happened in a year. The figures indicate that investors may be moving toward safer investment vehicles due to the fluctuating stock markets. The Investment Company Institute says bond funds saw $489.8 million in net cash inflows in June, compared to the previous month's figure of $5.16 billion in outflows. The increase in assets is similar to Financial Research Corp. data published last week.
